About the Future Lawyers Fellowship

A structured, live pre-law programme for grades 8–12 — what it is, why it exists, how it works, and the standards behind it.

Mission

Who We Are

The Future Lawyers Fellowship is a live, online pre-law programme for high-school students in grades 8–12, run by Learn with Leaders. Over three weekends, fellows study real court cases, build a legal position paper, practise LSAT-style reasoning, debate AI and the law, and argue a moot court.

Sessions are led by current Harvard University student mentors. "Harvard-mentored" refers to the mentors leading the fellowship — undergraduate students selected for their academic record and ability to teach — not to an endorsement of the programme by Harvard University itself.

Why We Exist

The Gap We Fill

Most pre-law exposure arrives late, in university, and assumes background knowledge most high-school students don't yet have. There are few structured, interactive routes into legal reasoning for younger students — especially ones that are live rather than pre-recorded.

Unlike a generic pre-law summer camp, the fellowship is built around a single, sequenced arc: each session feeds the next, culminating in a moot court every fellow argues. The focus is skills a first-year law student develops — reading cases, structuring arguments, timed reasoning — introduced at an age-appropriate level.

How It Works

Three Weekends, One Arc

The programme runs across three weekends (Saturday and Sunday), live on Zoom. Weekend 1 grounds fellows in the US court system and case reading; Weekend 2 builds the position paper and LSAT practice; Weekend 3 covers AI and the law and concludes with the moot court.

The full session-by-session breakdown is on the schedule page — see the curriculum there rather than repeating it here.

Our Standards

Rigor & Trust

Every session is designed by a pedagogy team and built around a specific interactive technique — named breakout rooms, Socratic challenges, timed arguments — so fellows are never passive for long stretches. Mentors are selected for both subject command and teaching ability.

The fellowship is delivered in partnership with schools and education groups already listed on this site, and materials are reviewed against the same standards across cohorts.
